Full Subject Based Banding
What is Full Subject Based Banding (Full SBB)?
Full Subject-Based Banding (SBB) is an MOE-wide initiative to allow students to have greater ownership of their learning according to their strengths, interests, abilities, talents and learning needs and develop a growth mindset and an intrinsic motivation to learn for life. They will also have more opportunities to interact with friends of different strengths, interests, abilities and talents. They will have more options for post-secondary pathways, while ensuring they have strong fundamentals and can thrive in their chosen pathway.
With FSBB, your child will have the flexibility to offer subjects at different subject levels (i.e. G1, G2, G3), according to his/her strengths, interest and learning needs, throughout secondary education, if they meet the eligibility criteria and based on the school’s holistic consideration.
Eligibility Criteria for FSBB upon entry to Secondary 1
At the start of Secondary 1, FSBB offers are made by the Ministry of Education, based on your child/ward’s performance during PSLE.
If your child has been offered subject(s) at different subject level(s), please indicate his/her choice(s) through the FormSG sent via PG by 28 December 2023, 5 pm.
