National Day Celebration, 7th August
This year, YTzens celebrated Singapore's 55th birthday through a 2-part National Day celebration. The theme for this year’s NDP is ‘Together A Stronger Singapore’. It is a rallying call to all Singaporeans to play our part, to push forward and determine Singapore’s future, in spite of the difficulties and crises.

The celebration began with the Observance Ceremony which involved Secondary 3 YTzens from their respective uniform groups. Our Principal, Ms Yeo, delivered this year’s National Day message on behalf of our Minister for Education, Mr Lawrence Wong.

For the second part of the celebration, YTzens participated in an inter-class Kahoot challenge! 🥇The objective of the challenge was to bring students together as a class to show teamwork, while sharing their knowledge with one another.

Despite the ongoing pandemic, our fellow YTzens have shown their adaptability, resilience and compassion.
️ These qualities unite us as Singaporeans and together, we can create a stronger Singapore! 💪

Teaching during Covid-19 times

Due to Covid-19, there have been many changes to the teaching and learning in Yishun Town Secondary School and although the learning curve is steep, teachers have embraced the world of technology to ensure that YTzens continue to receive quality education despite some of them being miles away from the classroom.

Teachers have tried various ways to conduct lessons online, from setting up virtual classrooms on Google classroom to utilising live streaming devices such that students who are not physically present in school can keep up with the lessons.
