Upcoming Workshops 2019
Workshop Title: “Helping Your Child To Succeed In Secondary School” |
---|
Synopsis
| Speaker | Date & Time | Venue |
As parents of a child going into or just in Secondary school, you face the challenge of two transitions: your child’s, and your own. Some things you may notice during this transition: Your child is changing physically, more concerned about his/her looks, more sensitive, desires independence, more argumentative.
These teens seem to have mood swings and be so “emo”. They prefer hanging out with their peers more than with you as their parents. They seem to know-it-all, yet are so insecure at the same time.
This parenting talk will help you to better support and encourage your children to succeed in secondary school life.

As children makes friends and interact with teachers in school, they are learning an important skill. They intuitively “catch” the nuances and subtleties of human expression that are essential for community living. In time to come, these skills will be used as they interact with their working colleagues.
Research shows that once they are in the corporate world, their Emotional Intelligence (EQ) in working together and leading teams becomes increasingly important.
Hence, to be successful in life, children have to be aware of social skills as much as gaining academic knowledge.
This talk will touch on – · The importance of Emotional Intelligence · Children’s milestones in their emotional growth · Essential character qualities for success · How parents can be the change-agents in their children’s lives
