Tamil Language Elective Programme (TLEP)

YTSS was one of 3 secondary schools selected by MOE to offer TLEP in 2020.

It aims to nurture capable and enthusiastic students to attain a high level of proficiency and competency in using the Tamil Language and enhance their knowledge and understanding of Tamil Literature and Culture.

The programme also aims to develop these students to become effectively bilingual so as to better serve the needs of our nation.

Signature Activities

School-based activities and programmes will be conducted, such as literary lectures, Meet-the-Author sessions, enrichment workshops, project work and language competitions to enthuse and enhance their learning of the language.

Sec 3 students from the 3 TLEP-Sec schools will jointly attend two signature activities organised by MOE:

• A one to two-day camp will be held locally during the June holidays with a focus on TL-related interests.

• A one to two-week overseas immersion programme will be organised towards the end of Secondary 3.
